Some tips and tricks for healthy living on-the-go.
Hack #1: Choose sugar free
We all know what it’s like having a sweet tooth and dealing with cravings for something sugary and delicious. The good news is that you can satisfy these without sacrificing your healthy goals. There are many sugar free alternatives to your favourite sweet treats out there ranging from soft drinks to decadent chocolates and desserts, juicy fruity chews and jellies, and scrumptious cookies. Treat yourself without falling into a pit of sugar!
Hack #2: Walk and talk
It’s often difficult to fit some exercise in when you are super busy, but you probably talk on your phone at least once a day. Why not use that time to move around? The next time you’re on the phone, stand up and walk around. While it’s not a full-on workout, some movement is better than none.
Hack #3: Drink up
Drinking water keeps you hydrated and helps you feel full, but not everyone likes the taste. To get around this, try sugar-free infusion drops to enhance the taste of your water – there are tons of flavours to choose from. We even have 5 delicious flavours of our own.
If that doesn’t sound like your thing, try adding a slice of fruit such as lemon, cucumber, apple or strawberry. It’ll infuse the water with its delicious flavour, helping to improve the taste, and also give you a chance to get creative.
Hack #4: Breathe
More often than not we look to comfort food when we’re feeling stressed out. When you feel your inner stress monster rising up STOP what you are doing for 5 minutes and take a moment to breathe. Try this simple but effective breathing exercise to help you. Take a slow breath in as you count to 5, hold for a count and then breathe out slowly. Repeat this a few times until you feel calmer. If you have the option, take a walk outside for a few minutes – there’s nothing like fresh air to clear your mind and to distract you from the slab of chocolate you were about to eat.
Hack #5: Snack healthy
If you’re someone who likes to snack throughout the day, just remember even small unhealthy snacks can add up to set you back. If you do find yourself snacking, the key is to choose yummy treats that are healthy and satisfying.
Roasted and lightly salted nuts are scrumptious and filling; plus, they are a great way to get your healthy fat serve for the day. If you want something sweet, grab a handful of fresh berries.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean sacrificing the things you love. It’s about adapting and finding new and fun ways to make “healthy” a part of your day.
