Ingredients:

  • 1¼  cups white quinoa (dry)
  • 2-3 cups milk (use more if needed)
  • ⅓ cup cacao powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Nut butter (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • Syrup, for serving
  • Chocolate, for serving
  • Berries, for serving
  • Berry jam, for serving

Method:

  1. Start by rinsing the white quinoa under cold water to remove any bitterness. Then, in a saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa with 2-3 cups of milk, depending on your desired consistency. Add a pinch of salt and the cacao powder to the saucepan, along with a dollop of nut butter if you’re looking to enhance the creaminess of your porridge.
  2. Place the saucepan over low heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the quinoa is soft and cooked through. If the mixture becomes too thick during cooking, feel free to add more milk as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
